DESCRIPTION:Understanding Suicide and Suicide Prevention 2 hr CLEET / 2 Hr MH \n10:00am – 12:00 Noon \nThis course provides First Responders insight into Suicide as well as potential Suicide Intervention\ntechniques. The multitude of small stress reactions incurred by First Responders during their\ncareer can pile up and lead to a negative attitude in the workplace\, in their personal life at home\,\nor both. This course is intended to educate First Responders how the impact of daily work-related\nand/or personal life experiences can cause traumatic reactions which have led to Suicide. \nLUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE TRAINING LOCATION. \nPRIOR REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! \nSurviving and Thriving a Career as a 1st Responder 2 hr CLEET / 2 Hr MH \n1:00pm – 3:00pm \nThis course uses common reactions to workplace stress and trauma to illustrate the pitfalls of\nthe 1st Responder work environment. The course asks students to recall their support foundation\nupon entering their career and how it has changed both positive and negative. We will review the\neffects of job-related trauma and stress and how to take control of your “off-duty” time. The\ncourse is applicable for ALL First Responder groups who may have different assignments and\nduties but share “Common Reactions to Stress and Trauma”.

DESCRIPTION:Warrior’s Rest Foundation First Responder Mental Health and Wellness Training provides dynamic instructors presenting relevant topics to first responders about traumas experienced from critical incidents. The students will learn from the instructors: \nHow to immediately implement best practices techniques for their mental health as a First Responder \nDiscuss and address the impact of trauma on a First Responder \nDiscuss and implement psychological first aid after the mental health crisis of a critical incident \nLearn how to identify warning signs of suicidal ideation \nDefine and discuss the signs of Post Traumatic Stress Injury and/or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder \nDiscuss the stigma First Responders face when asking for mental health help \nIdentify healthy coping mechanisms as part of their work/life routine so it will be part of their resiliency when in a mental health crisis \nThis course is recommended to all First Responders\, First Responder Supervisors / Command Staff\, Corrections\, and Dispatchers. Chaplains and Clinicians who work with First Responders are highly encouraged to attend. \nRegistration Deadline: May 31\, 2024
