SUMMARY:3-day CISM / GRIN course at Placer County SO
DESCRIPTION:3-days of “Basic Peer Training” / Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) that combines Assisting Individuals in Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention for new Peer Support members. \nAssisting Individuals in Crisis trains the peer to provide Peer Support and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) interventions (if needed) during Individual or “1 on 1” interactions. \nGroup Crisis Intervention prepares the Peer to provide CISM interventions of Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD)\, Defusing\, Crisis Management Briefings (CMB)\, etc. in Group situations. The need for appropriate follow-up services and referrals\, when necessary\, will also be discussed. \nThis course is designed for First Responders and Mental Health Professionals who assist First Responders and their families in dealing with job-related Stress and Trauma.
