DESCRIPTION:GROUP CRISIS INTERVENTION is PHASE 2 of the “Initial Peer Support Training” in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and is a 2-day course which prepares the Peer to provide CISM interventions of Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD)\, Defusing\, Crisis Management Briefings (CMB)\, and other strategies useful in Group situations. Assessment skills are also taught to help new peers determine which Group technique (if any) might be appropriate for different types of incidents. \nThe need for appropriate follow-up services and referrals post-incident\, when necessary\, will also be discussed during these training courses. \nThis course is designed for Oklahoma First Responders and Mental Health Professionals who assist other First Responders and their families in dealing with job-related Stress and Trauma. \n(NOTE: The PREREQUISITE for Group Crisis Intervention / Peer Support training is the 2-day course titled Assisting Individuals in Crisis.) \nCLEET CE 16 hr. and 8 hr. MH \nATTENTION:\nPLEASE notify us if you register for the training but are Not able to attend so we can contact people on a “Waiting List”. \nYou can contact the Warrior’s Rest Office for more information or to be added to our Waiting List for a particular class scheduled but already marked as “Sold Out”.
