ASSISTING INDIVIDUALS in CRISIS is PHASE 1 of the process to become a trained \u201cPeer Support Responder\u201d. This is a 2-day course of \u201cInitial Peer Support Training\u201d \/ Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) that is intermixed with additional wellness topics for new Peer Support members. This course is the foundation which prepares the student to provide Peer Support and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) interventions (if needed) during Individual or \u201c1 on 1\u201d interactions. The need for appropriate follow-up services and referrals post-incident, when necessary, will also be discussed during this training.<\/p>\n

This course is designed for First Responders and Mental Health Professionals who assist other First Responders and their families in dealing with job-related Stress and Trauma.<\/p>\n
