ASSISTING INDIVIDUALS in CRISIS / Peer Support (OKC, OK)

FreeASSISTING INDIVIDUALS in CRISIS is PHASE 1 of the process to become a trained “Peer Support Responder”. This is a 2-day course of “Initial Peer Support Training” / Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) that is intermixed with additional wellness topics for new Peer Support members. This course is the foundation which prepares the student to provide Peer Support and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) interventions (if needed) during Individual or “1 on 1” interactions. The need for appropriate follow-up services and referrals post-incident, when necessary, will also be discussed during this training.
This course is designed for First Responders and Mental Health Professionals who assist other First Responders and their families in dealing with job-related Stress and Trauma.
CLEET CE 16 hr and 2 hr MH
(NOTE: Prerequisite for Group Crisis Intervention training which is to be provided later this same week is the course titled, Assisting Individuals in Crisis. Registration for each specific course is required.)
